At the moment, however, innovative solutions are found only in pioneering institutions and in schools and universities in the capital and a few regional centers. We believe this situation needs to be corrected. In this article we explain why and how to do it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2569 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/idmc.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Signage_HE-1024x427.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"267\" \/><\/p>\n<p>First \u2014 information panels. They can be placed in areas where students gather to publish:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>urgent announcements from the university administration to students and staff and to its branches;<\/li>\n<li>informational materials (videos, class schedules, event announcements, exam and test results) in real time;<\/li>\n<li>information from government agencies and commercial organizations about job openings, events, and other notices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2570 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/idmc.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/education1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Digital Signage at a glance<\/h2>\n<p>Digital Signage ranks among the top technologies for delivering video content. It is a combination of hardware and software that allows you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>create and broadcast specialized targeted content;<\/li>\n<li>control its playback;<\/li>\n<li>broadcast according to a schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It consists of information display devices and a switching and AV signal distribution network (networked television).<\/p>\n<p>Digital Signage combines the advantages of information\u2011digital, television and advertising technologies. It can replace traditional advertising media (both indoor and outdoor).<\/p>\n<h3>Monitors and content delivery are managed according to the principle of:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>any source<\/em> (films and programs on physical media, video and photos shot with a camera, graphic and video files downloaded from FTP and web servers, peer networks and other sources, as well as excerpts from satellite and cable TV broadcasts);<\/li>\n<li><em>any location<\/em> (content transmission over a local network and via the Internet);<\/li>\n<li><em>any time<\/em> (automatic and manual formation of one or more content playback schedules for each location);<\/li>\n<li><em>any display<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2571 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/idmc.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/education2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Digital Signage consists of:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>a file storage and processing server;<\/li>\n<li>a transport server;<\/li>\n<li>data transfer networks from the transport server to video players;<\/li>\n<li>decoding and playback control systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As an example of using Digital Signage in education, let\u2019s look at the Samsung Flip WM55H digital whiteboard.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2572 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/idmc.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Samsung-Flip.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"443\" height=\"780\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Samsung Flip WM55H \u2014 a striking example in the world of Digital Signage<\/h2>\n<p>This interactive board (flipchart) enhances the effectiveness of teamwork, which is relevant not only for education but also for office tasks. It combines the advantages of a traditional paper flipchart and an electronic device. Multiple users can write on the screen simultaneously using special pens. You can add notes, make edits, move elements and use the search function. Up to twenty pages are available for writing and drawing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2573 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/idmc.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Samsung-Flip-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"445\" height=\"690\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At present there are relatively few effectively working Digital Signage systems in education. Innovative DMC is ready to support initiatives by offering its own developments and solutions.
