Ukraine has opened its first McDonald’s at a gas station. With digital signage and menus. Now the world‑famous restaurant lets road travelers grab a bite on the go and take their favorite hamburgers and other fast‑food treats with them. In addition, customers get a unique experience and can use digital menus and touch screens for quick ordering.

The first Ukrainian McDonald’s at a gas station is located in Kyiv region: Sofiyivska Borshchahivka village, 2 Kyivska Street. The 400 sq.m. restaurant is designed to accommodate 69 guests indoors and 170 people on the outdoor terrace.

The McDonald’s chain has been introducing Digital Signage solutions in Ukraine since 2015. Digital menus and self‑service monitors have already won fans among McDonald’s devotees. It’s pleasing to see the same technologies at an innovative service station.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”post-menu-1″ el_class=”post-menu-1″ css=”.vc_custom_1536306299471{padding-top: 40px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;}” ][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Why are digital screens needed in a restaurant?” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1547710885555{margin-bottom: 25px !important;}” ][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”7/12″][vc_column_text]Digital touch screens:

  • improve service quality;
  • provide a new customer experience;
  • reduce customer service time;
  • relieve and optimize the work of cashiers and restaurant staff;
  • help avoid queues typical of many McDonald’s locations;
  • enable management to effectively analyze guest behavior and preferences;
  • do not make mistakes and “understand” the user on the first try.

In McDonald’s restaurants, 85% of orders are processed via digital touch displays. This indicates customers’ full readiness to use innovative solutions. McDonald’s Ukraine Commercial Director Yevhenii Kochetov notes that these monitors were installed primarily for customer convenience. People are used to making purchases and orders via gadgets — so they should be able to do the same at their favorite fast‑food restaurant. It’s convenient and modern.

The terminals installed in Ukrainian McDonald’s restaurants were developed in compliance with Ukraine’s fiscal legislation. They issue fiscal receipts that meet legal requirements. The terminals’ design includes a fiscal recorder and a customer indicator.

Devices can be used by people with disabilities: those with hearing or vision impairments and people with limited mobility. For the latter, a special area is provided at the bottom of the screens.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_single_image image=”2875″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1549960725152{padding-top: 60px !important;padding-bottom: 60px !important;background-color: #36a3dc !important;}” el_class=”call-action”][vc_column][ultimate_heading main_heading=”WANT TO LEARN ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF DIGITAL SIGNAGE FOR YOUR PROJECT?” main_heading_color=”#ffffff” heading_tag=”h4″ sub_heading_color=”#ffffff” main_heading_font_family=”font_family:Roboto|font_call:Roboto|variant:700″ main_heading_style=”font-weight:700;” main_heading_font_size=”desktop:30px;” main_heading_margin=”margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:20px;” sub_heading_font_family=”font_family:Roboto|font_call:Roboto|variant:300″ sub_heading_style=”font-weight:300;” sub_heading_font_size=”desktop:19px;” sub_heading_margin=”margin-bottom:30px;”]Contact us and get a FREE consultation for your project[/ultimate_heading][contact-form-7 id=”2406″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”post-menu-2″ el_class=”post-menu-2″ css=”.vc_custom_1536307472483{padding-top: 40px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;}” ][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Digital menus: how do they work?” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1547711181660{margin-bottom: 25px !important;}” ][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1536306393037{margin-top: 20px !important;}” ][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_single_image image=”2876″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”7/12″][vc_column_text]Digital screens allow guests to order without interacting with a cashier. Studies show that fast‑food customers tire of interacting with restaurant staff. They want to be quick and ask few questions. Even better if they do everything themselves.
Payment can also be made on the spot — simply use a bank card.

The terminal workflow is extremely simple:

  1. You select the order type: takeaway or dine‑in;
  2. You choose a convenient payment method: cashless payment by bank card or cash upon pickup;
  3. The terminal transmits your order information to the restaurant staff, who immediately begin preparing it;
  4. You collect your order at the designated pickup area.

The automation and content management system, digital monitors and touch screens, digital signage and other Digital Signage solutions at McDonald’s are considered unique. In fact, they can be implemented in any restaurant or business, at gas stations and in Retail — as the project described above clearly demonstrates.
