Top 5 Innovative DMC Digital Signage Projects of 2021

Well? 2021 is already history. Nonetheless, it’s fair to say that despite quarantine restrictions, tense political and economic conditions in the country, and rising dollar and energy costs — 2021 was a year full of new and, most importantly, promising Digital Signage projects for Innovative DMC.

In this review we’ll tell you about the TOP 5 projects that we consider the most interesting.

The main and most anticipated Digital Signage event of 2021 for our company was the release of the conceptually new solution DSGO.pro. It’s worth noting that this is not just one product, but three products released at once. An innovative, flexible and multifunctional hardware‑software solution for implementing remote management projects for audio, video and interactive content across various digital devices: smartphones, tablets, standard or professional LCD screens, SMART TVs, video walls, interactive panels, LED media facades, etc. This time we focused on three key business directions in Digital Signage:

  1. PRO – a next‑generation corporate Digital Signage solution;
  2. Lite – the DS mobile app adapted for B2C & B2B business models;
  3. Hotel – a flexible, multifunctional DS solution for the hotel industry.

1. Our list begins with one of the most unconventional projects in non‑food retail — the Feeriya fireworks retail chain. To our surprise, even in the retail of fireworks, souvenirs, inflatable balloons and so on, a professional Digital Signage solution was required to implement centralized content management on advertising monitors across the store network. The project has so far been implemented in three regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipro. The owners plan to expand the chain’s presence in western Ukraine in 2022.

This was a comprehensive implementation: supply and installation of commercial LG panels, mounting and structured cabling works, content development, and deployment of the DSGO.pro hardware‑software Digital Signage solution using iDS+ media players 2/16 Gb. Work took several months, with the majority of the time spent preparing and developing content. In early project discussions with the Client, the main request could be summed up in one phrase: “We need a WOW effect.” Guided by that criterion, we proposed a unified‑content concept across several advertising screens.

The strategy proved successful, and the content developed by Innovative DMC’s designers and animators fully satisfied the Client’s request. Since the final project stage was completed only in December 2021, we made it in time for the busy pre‑New‑Year season. Watch the video report at the link.

2. Second in order, but not in importance, is the implementation of Digital Signage hardware‑software systems for digital menu management at the STOP PIZZA pizzeria in the HoReCa sector. Implementing digital menus and developing sales‑driven content is our specialty. The venue is located on the food court of Lavina Mall in Kyiv. From the first communication with the Client and discussion of key tasks, several months passed. Selecting, ordering and importing commercial LG49UT640S monitors to implement a 4K digital menu for the highest color fidelity and WOW effect required a wait of more than a month. For several weeks our creative team developed the content concept, adapted the brand book and produced animations. Manufacturing of specialized mounts also took several weeks. However, installing the digital menu — consisting of four vertically mounted 49‑inch monitors — and the DSGO.pro system setup and launch took only a few hours. Combining a saturated corporate red with a dark background achieved the expected result. Unifying content across all four screens into a single “video wall” effectively draws visitors’ attention. 3. Continuing the TOP 5 Digital Signage implementations by Innovative DMC in 2021, we highlight the project for one of Kyiv’s largest networked food & non‑food retailers — the LotOK chain. The rollout of advertising screens and a centralized audio/video content‑management system in LotOK stores began at the end of 2019. From day one, Innovative DMC established a standard — a FREE “pilot” project. This means that when signing an agreement to test our Digital Signage hardware‑software solution, we cover all preparation and execution costs, including providing the necessary demo equipment.

This strategy allows us to demonstrate our loyalty and expertise at the specification‑discussion stage. After a successful pilot, neither the IT department (project curator) nor marketing (project owner) doubted our competence or the solution. With a scaling plan in place, the project was launched and continues to this day.

4. Another vivid and memorable project in the networked retail sector last year was in fuel retailing. At the beginning of 2021, the management of the AVTOTRANS gas station network decided to update their station format. AVTOTRANS’s request was no exception: within a week of the inquiry, the network’s IT specialists and marketers began full testing of the system. Two weeks later, project participants agreed that Innovative DMC’s Digital Signage solution fully met the marketing and IT requirements and supported stable infrastructure operation. After more than a year of cooperation, the standard use of digital menus and Innovative DMC’s advanced Digital Signage technologies became an integral part of the network’s rebranding.

In terms of implementation details, staff from both our side and the Client’s performed enormous work. We selected the optimal model of professional 24/7 panels. For this project we proposed a model based on web OSLGSM5KE, which has proven itself well in large network practices across our HoReCa and Retail clients. 5. Rounding out Innovative DMC’s TOP 5 Digital Signage projects of 2021 is the deployment of a centralized content‑management system for a 2×2 video wall for the USAID fund in Ukraine. Winning a project at this level is at the very least an honor. Briefly on implementation: Chemonics International Inc., representing the interests of the USAID fund in Ukraine, invited us to participate in a tender. Following the competitive selection, funding was allocated for implementing Digital Signage at the central hospital in Berdyansk.

There were no major difficulties in executing this project since our company has extensive experience implementing video walls and advertising monitors across a variety of business and social projects.
