Implementation of Digital Menu Boards in the MASTER BURGER Fast‑Food Chain

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A record project: implementation and turnkey launch of a digital menu in just 7 days — this is, to date, our personal record and pride. The previous record holder was the digital menu (digital menu board) project for the L’KAFA Group restaurants. In 2016 we installed the first WOW digital menu with the effect of combining four monitors at PloveLove in the BLOCKBUSTER mall in Kyiv within 10 days.

How did it all start? The owner of the MasterBurger.cz chain, which entered the Ukrainian market, contacted us. For implementing a centralized audio and video content management project across the restaurant network in the Czech Republic, and now in Ukraine, our software‑and‑hardware solution was a perfect fit. The portfolio of implemented digital menu projects in the HoReCa sector impressed the client so much that negotiations to begin cooperation lasted no more than an hour. Without wasting time on discussions, the decision was made to deploy the digital menu as quickly as possible.

The project team and the owner of MASTER BURGER held a series of meetings, after which our team got to work.

Initial request data: location — food court in Dream Town mall, 1st line, Kyiv; task — implement a digital menu: four primary 43″ digital menu monitors and one auxiliary screen to show order preparation status; objective — attract customers and increase sales through dynamic content showcasing dishes.

Stage 1 — preparing appetizing, attractive and sales‑driving content. The owners already had a portfolio, which helped us quickly and effectively adapt the client’s existing photo materials, start work on the Digital Brand Book and create the initial visual content block for the opening of the first restaurant in Kyiv.

Stage 2 — preparation and planning of equipment installation. The main challenge was the 10‑meter ceiling height in Dream Town’s food court, which somewhat affected the project timeline. We had to bring in a team of professional high‑access installers. Installation work was carried out at night when the mall was closed.

We successfully handled this task thanks to our extensive experience with similar requests, one of which was a digital menu composed of twenty monitors at the Romeo&Bagetta food court.

With the implementation of the centralized audio and video content management system, the network owners gained the ability to remotely manage the system from anywhere in the world and make changes to assortment and pricing policies. The owner’s detailed familiarization with iDS’s functional capabilities encouraged him to roll out the solution across all network restaurants in the short term.

The Digital Signage system’s functionality allows flexible scheduling of content display based on business needs and integration of iDS with third‑party software (for example, with any accounting program or a restaurant loyalty system).

The primary goals of digital menus are to attract attention, orient customers regarding the restaurant’s range and pricing, and inform guests about order status.

A digital menu enables customers to quickly get maximum information and make a choice in minimal time. At MASTER BURGER each monitor displays a specific burger type.

For example:

  • with veal
  • with pork
  • vegetarian

Positioning your business in digital format ahead of competitors on a food court is paramount. A bright, dynamic, visual presentation of the restaurant’s assortment is a highly effective tool for attracting customers and, consequently, increasing profit.

Installing a Digital Signage system is undoubtedly the right path for developing and scaling a restaurant business.
