Representatives of the IT and marketing departments of Caravan Mall turned to us with an unusual request — the mall had recently completed reconstruction and introduced digital innovations to inform and entertain visitors. The new equipment included four cylindrical LED screens installed in the shopping galleries. However, during operation it became clear that the existing content‑management system had a number of limitations that prevented the business from using the full potential of Digital Signage solutions, and we were tasked with expanding the screens’ functionality as much as possible.

The uniqueness — and at the same time the complexity — of the request was that the LED screens were already installed. The installation consisted of four cylinders mounted from the ceiling in different parts of the mall. The next surprise was that the signal from one playback device (controller) was being duplicated across two screens, which significantly complicated the content‑manager’s task when preparing playlists. The cherry on top was that the LED screens had different resolutions.
It is worth noting that Innovative DMC’s project portfolio already includes several similar Digital Signage tasks and projects successfully solved with the hardware‑software suite in the CIS. One such project was the Chaplin Mega Alma‑Ata implementation
After a series of negotiations, analysis and expert assessments of the work complexity, we agreed to take on the task. Suffice it to say, implementing this project was not an easy decision for us, and during execution — as we uncovered various “pitfalls” — we even considered terminating the cooperation.
However, using the flexible functionality of the iDS Cloud hardware‑software solution, we found a way to solve even such a complex problem.
A key role in the successful delivery of this project was played by the built‑in content editor in the iDS Cloud software, which allows creating templates for non‑standard LED and LCD resolutions.
We also solved the task of distributing administration rights among staff from different departments.

In a classic scenario any investment presupposes an ROI. The LED‑screen implementation project at Caravan OUTLET Mall is no exception. Using iDS Cloud’s flexible capabilities, we solved the task by distributing rights between departments: IT — responsible for the hardware‑software suite operation, and marketing — responsible for content and its updates to meet advertisers’ requests. And again, it wasn’t that simple. The next requirement was to set up remote media‑content management across the four LED screens so the mall could cooperate with external advertising agencies.
Task feature: it was important to split administrative rights for content‑control zones between the mall administration and external agencies. This did not require additional software customization because this functionality is built into Innovative DMC’s iDS Cloud hardware‑software suite.

Drawing on years of theoretical and practical experience implementing and monetizing Digital Signage & Interactive Technologies solutions, we were able to configure solutions for ALL the project’s non‑standard tasks. As you can imagine, there were quite a few of them in this project.
Overall, the project was intriguing, interesting and complex — and that was its distinguishing feature, which led mall management to turn to our professional team at Innovative DMC.
Following the successful completion of the work — which, by the way, you can evaluate in person by visiting Caravan OUTLET Mall — we want to thank the management for their assistance and trust in our team.
We were pleased to share our expertise and propose an optimal solution for such a unique situation.
It was a great honor and responsibility for us to take on such an extraordinary project. The joy and sense of high‑quality execution of yet another project motivate us to new achievements.
There were numerous “pitfalls” in the form of technical conditions and equipment nuances, but we overcame these barriers as well.

Summing up the project, one moral inevitably comes to mind: when choosing and purchasing expensive software, hardware, infrastructure and innovative Digital Signage solutions in general, every detail matters. Many of them you may not even suspect — yet they can prove “fatal”. What good is an expensive car if it has no engine and you need to drive?
